We experienced mixed acceptance in Idaho. Near Boise, we found NO ebiking signs on many of the trails and many people who are anti-ebike. This sentiment may be a result of a general mentality which comes across as more conservative and not as open to change.
Near Sun Valley, which is one of the best mountain biking destinations in the western states, shops, riders and the general population are more receptive to emtb. There are many trails there and elevation can be a challenge. Sun Valley, being a vacation destination, seems to have embraced emtb riding...at least on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property.
