We only spent a small amount of time in Austin before COVID-19 arrived and we decided to leave. Nevertheless, we were able to go for a couple of rides. Near Lake Travis there is the Emma Long Metropolitan park which is an off road dirt bike park in the city. It is strange to see something like that so close a major city. The trails are very tight so we felt comfortable to give it a try and avoid motorcycle encounters. The terrain is very rocky and was super dry when we went. No issues here to ride emtb since it is an OHV park.
The second area we went riding was the Lost Creek Trail, still near Lake Travis. This trail was also very dry and rocky. No anti-ebike signs here, but we have heard that there is continuous debate in this part of Austin. We encountered only a few riders and they didn't make any comments.
Trail types: very rocky, dry, a bit of elevation change.
Trails we rode: Lost Creek Trail, Barton Spring Creek trail and Emma Long Motocross Park. All those trails are in Austin, in the metro area.
